John Deere Introduces 2720 Disk Ripper for 2013 Tillage Season

John Deere introduces the 2720 Disk Ripper, an all-new, heavy-duty primary tillage tool designed to handle a wide variety of tillage tasks. This new machine sizes and buries crop residue, penetrates and shatters compacted soils, and mixes and levels the soil surface with greater efficiency. According to Jake Stien, product manager at John Deere Des Moines Works, the 2720 Disk Ripper is the ideal primary tillage tool for low-, medium- and high-residue conditions where producers are looking to accomplish a variety of tillage goals all in one pass.

The 2720 Disk Ripper is available in four widths: 12 ft. 6 in., 17 ft. 6 in., 22 ft. 6 in., and 27 ft. 6 in., depending on the size that best fits a producer's farm size and tractor horsepower. John Deere Announces New 4.5L, 6.8L Tier 3 Marine Engines

John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) is pleased to announce new Marine Tier 3 PowerTechTM 4.5L and 6.8L propulsion and generator-drive engines at the International WorkBoat Show, Dec. 5 – 7 in New Orleans. John Deere will meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Marine Tier 3 emissions regulations that began to take effect in 2009 based on cylinder displacement and power per displacement with a complete lineup of PowerTech 4.5L and 6.8L propulsion and generator-drive engines.

The PowerTech 4045AFM85 will serve as a more powerful and compact choice in the power range that was previously covered for Tier 2 by the PowerTech 6.8L 6068TFM75 propulsion and PowerTech 6.8L 6068TFM76 generator-drive engines. The PowerTech 4045AFM85 engine will feature a high-pressure common-rail fuel system, four valves per cylinder, turbocharging and air-to-coolant aftercooling.
